About Tim Booth
Born in 1963, Tim was educated in Britain and from an early age was encouraged to travel. Bringing home new langauges, a variety of strange objects and photographs from the camera that has rarely left his hand since he was old enough to pick it up.
His passion for portraiture, travel and landscape have knitted well with commissions all over the globe. Berbers in the Atlas Mountains, fossil dinosaurs on the edge of the sahara, Samburu dancers in the deserts of northern Kenya, Mayans in the shadows of Chichen Itza, Flamenco dancers in Andalucia and polo players in the Hindu Kush demonstrate the diversity of his work and experience. Asked why he loves his work Tim replied - \"Photography is all about passion. Passion for communication, passion for art, passion for light and for change. Every moment of every day there are pictures happening all over the world, I can\'t hope to catch them all but I\'ve been very lucky to be able to witness some of them.\" \"The wait for that moment in the studio or on location, that one moment when everything comes together, when there are no edges, when everything flows, is addictive. I was hooked the first time I looked through a lens\". Tim achieves the rare compromise of a passion for his work, with the need to make a living. His work, commissioned and otherwise has stimulated exhibitions - A Show of Hands, and Two Views of Africa, as well as a diversity of images available from libraries.
